Now, I've read literally thousands of books in my life. I've got them all over the house and boxes of them in the attic and the storage vault. However, about 95% if them I don't remember enough of to say anything about them. I don't remember what it was about, and it might have been twenty years since I read it. The series I read in college - Wizard, Titan, and Demon, which take place on (or, rather, in) a moon around Saturn, I remember it being really cool. And I remember the buzz bombs. But that was about it. Not much of a review - I pretty much just wrote it in that last sentence. So I either have to read to stay ahead, read shorter stories, get guest reviewers, or pull out old stories that I dearly remember. All of those I rely on, but my favorite is to read a full-length book and post my thoughts. That just feels... right. Well, I'm getting ready to read book five of Game of Thrones now, and I'm happy to report that I've got five reviews stacked up and one book just finished and awaiting review (The Brick Moon). That means I'm cleared to start Thrones and have six weeks to finish it up. So the race begins. (Hey, and I even got a DOG EAR piece out of it, too!) |
