Better never than late (DOG EAR)

Better never than late (DOG EAR)

hose who know me know that the 2024 election didn’t go as I’d hoped it would. My thoughts on this are my own, and if you don’t understand, well, you probably can’t handle the truth.

But a week before the general election, I got a weird email from the site (nice to know the contact link still works – nobody ever writes). Anyway, from way out in Culver’s Country, Wisconsin, someone wrote me via my site in all caps. It was a complaint, crabbing that I owned this domain and they needed if for another Robert Raymond who was running for public office in Wisconsin as an independent.

Sorry, but even though this site is not the Mecca of literature I once imagined it might be, and even through I post out blogs like some lonely ham radio operator in the night, it’s my site and I got here first. I’ve had RobertRaymond.com for decades now.

So, this Robert Raymond, as I said, is running and someone supportive of him (possibly a campaign worker) was grousing at me because they figured they needed this domain and there I was, squatting. The amazing thing was that this was one week before the election. It’s a little late to be swaying the masses to your independent message a short seven days before voting starts (and hell, I assume they have early voting, even in Wisconsin. A lot of possibly fiery citizens have mailed in ballots or visited a polling station). You should have been scouting sites months out, not virtually (in politics) the day-of. Everyone said that what killed Harris was that she only had 100 days to campaign (I don’t). But a week?

And so how did this other Robert Raymond do?

So, yes, well run. Maybe in four years, should I die or finally give up on this doomed site, you can snatch it up and try again. God knows, we’ve seen this awful thing come to pass recently.

>>>BUY A BOOK WHILE THE SITE IS UP.  THAT’S THE WHOLE POINT, RIGHT?<<<
