Gravity Lost (Review)

Gravity Lost (Review)

magine my delight when after enjoying the first book by this new author (L.M. Sagas), Cascade Failure, my friend told me a second novel just came out (This one!). Rushed right down to the bookstore and picked up a copy hot off the shelf!

So again, we’re focused on the crew of the Ambit, a no-account dime-a-dozen rockhopper (seemingly unarmed) and its crew of three – Saint, Dash and their AI captain Eoan (with its “”Them/Their” pronoun). And they are just minding their business, back to dirty Guild jobs (in this case, doing a prisoner transfer for badass terrorist Drestyn) when suddenly they come across someone stealing from a security checkpoint. Turns out its their old buddy from the first book (Jal) who has been forced to do this since someone kidnapped his sister (but happily overlooked her daughter). So now the crew of the Ambit and ex-miner, ex-soldier Jal are back together, running dangerous missions and trying to figure out who is behind dirty Guild dealings (including the bombing of the Captain’s Council). Trust me – just like the first book, the dialog sizzles, they humor is laugh-out-loud, the scenes great fun and the missions hopeless. Just what I enjoyed about the first book, now back for a new space opera.

I don’t know what else I can say except you really need to get into this series, scifi-fans. It’s best if you start with Cascade Failure but if you are taking my recommendation, take it twice and get both. Nice comfy set, an enjoyable read and exciting high adventure!
