Lost Cat (Review)

Lost Cat (Review)

ubtitled as “A true story of Love, Desperation and GPS Technology”, this was an interesting bio from a young woman (Caroline Paul) who starts her recounting with smashing her ultralight and pulping her leg (okay, THAT caught my attention). Finally leaving the hospital, she returns home to her two cats (Fibby and Tibby). So she’s confined with her injury, somewhat smacked out on drugs, depressed, whiny, all those recovery things. And that’s when TIbby goes missing.

Weeks pass. Hobbling around the immediate area, calling Tibby’s name, aided by her good friend (and illustrator) Wendy MacNaughton, she starts her quest. Fearful that Tibby has been killed, injured, gotten lost or abducted by other cat lovers (sic), she searches and searches and turns up nothing. Eventually she gives up.

And five weeks later, Tibby returns.

This drives Caroline crazy. She goes to great lengths to get to the bottom of this, hooking up her cat with a GPS collar and tracking him/her (not sure) as he wanders the neighborhood. It’s a very interesting account of tracking their friend and finally figuring out roughly where Tibby finally got to.

A nice little story with her friend’s illustrations to companion it. Worth a look. Read it in a day. Not for dog people, I suppose, but hey, live on the wild side.
