Stacking up (DOG EAR)

Stacking up (DOG EAR)

eople told me that after I retired, I’d end up with less time than ever before. Gotta say they were right.

In one week, I will have had three cabbie jobs, taking people to medical appointments. Cycling, well, that’s down to one thirty-mile ride and maybe some afternoon scratch. Had a train show all last weekend.  And I’ve got the paperwork for my model railroad I’m developing. And the cleaning of same. So, yes, busy busy.

My writing output on the web is nil. Readers have been asking, but what can I tell them? And looking over, right now at my desk, I’ve got three reviews to write. As I got ready to write those, I remember it was Wednesday and DOG EAR was due. So what to write about… if only to write about how little time there is to write about it.

I don’t have any solution right now. I suppose a firm hour during the day for writing would be one (which I haven’t invoked). I do that sort of thing for my rides, always catching a loop with my friend three (well, now, one) time a week. And there are goals – so many pages a week, a page a day. I’m all about commitment – I did EST in the eighties but have not firmed anything up yet.

And so the activities continue – so much to do, so little time.
