I was getting ready for ops, trying to clean and prep up. Everything seems doable now and I’m hoping for a session next week.

In getting ready, I happened to look at my last crew sheet. I generally list the day and month correctly at the top, but change the year to something like 1951 or so, just keeping in character. But it struck me – “Feb 19”? I knew it couldn’t be this February, but last February? Really? Looks like, as noted HERE.

I guess that’s why it needed so much cleaning.

Where did that year of excuses go? There was the turnout difficulty as mentioned HERE – that delayed a few sessions. And the book release – weekends spent sitting at tables and breaking even. And then a couple of train shows we displayed at (we’ve been doing more, and there is a lot of effort put into building the sectional layout). And that Dale Carnegie course, which allowed 12 weeks of excuses. Then the fall, with DixieRails and Tehachapi. Then Christmas and another session or two elsewhere. And now its been a year of me putting it off and delaying hosting a session.

Anyway, looks like we’re ready now. I’ll touch base with a few key operators and then call for the session, probably next Sunday. I’ve got the get the Coast Route back into service.

Really, gotta do it.
